Catia V5 CAD Designer / Layout Engineer


Location: Liverpool

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be fully proficient in Catia V5 CAD, designing Assembly Tooling for Body Construction (BIW).  Creation of CAD Assembly Tooling in CATIA V5 for BIW & Trim assembly projects.  Develop and maintain facility layout designs in FactoryCAD / AutoCAD.  Ensure data is up to date and reflects the required levels of maturity at any given point in time.  Liaise with other functional areas including manufacturing, supply base and program teams, to ensure designs are delivery in accordance with the program time scale.


Skills Required;
  • Catia V5 is a minimum requirement
  • Factory CAD & AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Body Structures
  • Body in White tooling design
  • Special purpose machinery design
  • Conveyance technologies
  • Robot process’s including welding, sealing and handling
  • Understanding of Machinery Directive and associated EU legislation relating to the safe design and use of automated equipment

Process Engineer


Location: Liverpool

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will have considerable experience in Process Engineering, ideally with an Automotive BIW background.  Responsible for the development of work place layouts, & assembly processes – Generating manufacturing processes and assembly instructions, tools, equipment and gauging to be used in the assembly of vehicle body structures.


Skills Required;
  • Create and maintain Process Designer Databases, to Customer standards and plant specific processes / specifications
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product
  • Assist Designers and Simulators in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software
  • Provide feedback to Design Engineers on customer problems and needs
  • Collate informational data to document "As build processes" to efficiently provide customer and internal personal with an accurate account of data as per customer Specifications
  • Basic B.I.W (Body In White) Assembly Knowledge and understanding
  • Basic Assembly Line Layout and System flow knowledge
  • Cycle time analysis of existing manual and automated processes to measure and improve throughput
  • Communicate Customer product updates, changes and impacts to design community

Project Manager


Location: Liverpool

Reporting to the North West Programme Manager, the successful candidate will have considerable experience in project/program management, ideally with an Automotive BIW background.  Accountable for project planning and delivery of one, or multiple complex projects and will be directly responsible for scheduling, tracking, reporting, risk analysis, cost management, change management, evaluating, and controlling projects. You will be responsible for all aspects of the project from sales handover to facility acceptance.

Skills Required;
  • Technical awareness and understanding of existing BIW manufacturing processes and methodologies
  • Project management methodology, techniques and tools
  • Sound business and commercial skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, communication and negotiation techniques
  • Ability to lead project meetings and make presentations facing the customer at all levels
  • In-depth experience of conveyance systems, robot welding, robot material handling, joining technologies, automation safety, appreciation of PLC controls systems, all preferred but not essential
  • Extensive project management experience of automated production facility installations

Assembly Technician / BIW Fitter

Skills Required;

Electrical Design Engineer


Location: Washington, Tyne & Wear, North East

Electrical Design Engineers will be responsible for designing, programming and commissioning control systems for equipment, including full bespoke machinery, jigs, fixtures and tooling, for a diverse customer base. They will also be tasked with elements of project control including schedules and cost tracking.


Initial Resposibilities:
  • Produce designs in accordance with the technical requirements of a project

Electrical Design Manager


Location: Washington, Tyne & Wear, North East

Reporting to the Engineering Manager The Electrical Design Manager will oversee the day to day running of all aspects of the electrical design team. They will be responsible for the management of the design team resources including manpower and design tools. It will be the Electrical Design Manager's responsibility to ensure that staff are aware of the relevant design standards and that those standards are adhered to and maintained. As well as the managerial responsibilities the Electrical Design Manager will also be responsible for designing, programming and commissioning control systems for equipment, including full bespoke machinery, jigs, fixtures and tooling, for a diverse customer base. They will also be tasked with elements of project control including schedules and cost tracking.


Initial Resposibilities:
  • They will supervise and control the resources of the electrical design office
  • Ensure that designers receive all relevant information needed to progress with a design
  • Ensure all members of the design team receive the appropriate support and training to keep their skills and knowledge up to date

Trainee Technical Sales Engineer


Location: Coventry

As a Trainee Technical Sales Engineer you will be given full and comprehensive training in the full range of standard products marketed by Expert Tooling & Automation Ltd. You will be working as part of the Sales team, in conjunction with internal sales and technical staff, who will actively support you in your role. The team work closely together with the aim of developing account winning strategies to win new accounts and maximize the sales opportunities for the Expert standard product range within the UK OEM market. The team delivers the full spectrum of services from initial contact with customers through to creating and issuing quotes and reaching agreements to win orders and contracts. This position is initially office based, but, as you advance through your training you will be expected to begin to spend part of the week out of the office visiting customers around the UK. To begin with you will be working alongside another team member. Ultimately, after successfully completing a satisfactory training period, you will be expected to progress to the role of Technical Sales Engineer. Inspector - Optical Laser Measuring


Location: Coventry

Inspector to measure automotive assembly tooling (BIW). Validate the geometry of the tooling against design CAD data. Provide inspection reports in line with customer requirements progressing the inspection in line with the programme timescales and deliverable cadence. Ensure product data is up to date and reflects the required levels of maturity at any given point in time. Liase with manufacturing and other affected functional areas, supply information in a format so that programme team can ensure tooling function and compatibility issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Skills Required:
  • The use of Metrolog XG as a minimum
  • Engineering knowledge of Body Structures and Body in White design
  • The function, performance, production and manufacturing requirements within these environments
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience Required:
  • Successful history as a Inspector using optical lazer trackers in the automotive or Aerospace sector
Education Required:

PLC Control Engineers

As an Engineering Buyer, you'll be a key member of the team, with responsibility for a portfolio of commodities within a particular area of Purchasing.–, from sourcing, to supplier relationship management and quality of supply across your category.
